Our Story

We are Neon Noir

A creative collective born from the shadows, crafting cinematic brand experiences that cut through the noise. We blend dark aesthetics with electric energy to make brands unforgettable.

The Journey

How We Became Neon Noir

From a basement studio to a global creative force — every chapter shaped our voice.

2016
The Spark

Three designers met at an underground film festival in Berlin. Bonded by a shared obsession with chiaroscuro lighting and synthwave soundtracks, they began collaborating on late-night creative experiments in a Kreuzberg basement.

2017
First Clients, First Fires

Neon Noir was officially founded. Our first project — a rebrand for an indie game studio — went viral on design forums. The phone started ringing. We hired two more creatives and moved into a proper studio in Mitte.

2019
Crossing The Atlantic

With a growing portfolio of tech startups and fashion labels, we opened our New York office. Our campaign for ÆON Labs won a Webby Award and caught the attention of major lifestyle brands.

2021
Cinematic Scale

We expanded into motion design and immersive web experiences. Our team grew to 25 people across Berlin, NYC, and Tokyo. Collaborated with filmmakers and musicians to blur the line between branding and cinema.

2024
The Noir Era

Today, Neon Noir is a full-spectrum creative agency known for dark, bold, emotionally charged work. We partner with visionary brands to build worlds, not just identities. The story is still being written.

The Collective

Meet The Architects

Marcus Chen

Marcus Chen

Amara Okonkwo

Amara Okonkwo

Strategy Director & Partner

Amara bridges the gap between brand strategy and cultural insight. With a background in anthropology and 8 years at IDEO, she ensures every project resonates deeply. She's obsessed with semiotics and obscure zines from the '90s.

Philosophy

What We Stand For

Guiding principles that shape every pixel, every frame, and every decision.

Cinematic Thinking

We approach every brand as a story waiting to be told. Lighting, pacing, tension, and release — these aren't just film concepts; they're the foundation of unforgettable design. Every project gets a mood board that could double as a film treatment.

Dark Aesthetic, Bright Ideas

We embrace shadow and contrast as creative tools. Bold typography, deep color palettes, and negative space create breathing room for ideas to resonate. Quiet confidence beats loud noise every time.

Technology as Craft

We're technologists who happen to be designers. Custom code, generative visuals, and performant web experiences are table stakes. We push browsers to their limits because mediocrity is not an option.

Radical Collaboration

Great work has no ego. We embed with our clients' teams, share Figma files openly, and prototype together. The best ideas often come from unexpected voices — we make sure everyone is heard in the room.
